The original bathroom had a small walk-in shower, which didn't fit
the family's needs. Swapping a shower for a tub requires specific
drainage adjustments — we had to move the main stack and supply lines.
The room lacked privacy. We needed a way to separate the tub from the
sinks. Our team built a partition wall to create a dedicated space for
the double vanity (this kept the bathing area tucked away).
We
installed a new wood vanity with a white quartz top, and the plumbing
and ventilation systems were replaced. For the walls, we chose a white
herringbone tile pattern behind the mirrors - this adds a custom feel.
We used patterned flooring to give the room character. Built-in niches
in the tub area provide easy storage (perfect for soaps and shampoos).
Working
in Arlington means following local building codes, so we pulled all
permits for the structural changes. Every step passed inspection - our
work meets all safety standards. By doing things right, we protect the
home's value.
The finished room combines natural wood
with matte black hardware (creating a modern look). Converting the
shower into a tub improved the layout, making it a better fit for a home
in Northern Virginia.
